Georgia Cop Gunned Down, Survived by Family; No Riots

Authorities announced on Sunday afternoon that they had arrested the suspect who’s believed to have fatally shot a Georgia police officer outside his police department over the weekend.

Dylan Harrison, aged 26, had been working his first shift as a police officer for the Alamo Police Department in Wheeler County, Georgia when he was fatally shot outside of the police department in the early hours of Saturday morning, leaving behind his wife and a newborn child.

The suspect, 43-year-old Damien Anthony Ferguson, who’s believed to have targeted Harrison over a confrontation that occurred hours early, was arrested and taken into police custody on Sunday afternoon after officers executed a search warrant on his residence, following a day-and-a-half-long manhunt.
